This College was established on 10 Aug 1961 and is located in the Heart of the city. Earlier its name was Shri Mahesh Teachers College in 1989 in memory of the founder chairman of the college Shah Goverdhan Lal Kabra the name was changed to Shah Goverdhan Lal Kabra Teachers’ College.

The Foundation stone of this College was laid by Hon’ble Mohan Lal Sukhadia(Ex-Chief Minister of Rajasthan) on 10 Dec 1961 and Inaugurated by Hon’ble Prof.Humayun Kabir(Ex-Minister for Scientific Research & Cultural Affairs, Govt of India)on 17 Aug 1963.

• 1961 College started B.Ed Course.
• 1964 College started B.Ed (Vacation Course) for in-service untrained Teachers till 1999.
• 1964 College bringing out a Quarterly Journal named Educational Herald.
• 1984 College started M.Ed Course.
• 1987 Introduced Ph.D programme in Education.
• 1988 The College was upgraded to C.T.E. under the Ministry of Human Resource Development Govt of India, New Delhi.
• 2007 College Started M.Ed (Part-Time) course for in-service Teachers till 2014.
• 2007 Accredited with B++ by NAAC – UGC.
• 2011 Completed successful 50 years (Golden Jubilee)
